i would go with the stevens model 200 its a bolt action vs. a single shot. i havent heard anything bad about the performance of the model 200, but the looks arent the best. i dont worry about looks if it is a gun that i am going to be using predator hunting for the fact i dont have to worry about scratching/scuffing it, while transporting to several different setups in a days time. i have been looking at model 200 in a .223 myself. i owned a model 200 in a .308 and cant say anything bad about the way it shot. but this is just my opinion......hope it helps.......

Theres nothing wrong with either of them, single shot or bolt. But if you jerk a little one way and miss than the bolt would be a much better choice. But youve got two great calibers picked out, If you want them better, than take them and get them made into Ackley Improved. I hunt for fur so thats why I like to use smaller centerfire calibers.
