Most squirrel hunters don't know this. This works great on Grey Squirrels that move around almost constantly....not sure about fox squirrels.

Red Tailed Hawk call.

Get set up and lay your gun down (don't even need to hold it). When a grey clibs a tree at the set up and heads out a branch to get a nut, get the call ready. On his way back and in an spot where you want to shoot, blow the hawk call. The darn squirrel will freeze like a stone. He may even see you reach for and mount the gun but he will not move a muscle. I'm not kidding...THIS REALLY WORKS! It is great for the scope and rifle guys and even the bow hunters. Note: Do not use it when the squirrel is on the ground, they will take off like a rocket ship to the nearest tree.

That works for Rabbits and chipmunks also. Most prey will freeze at the sound of a Hawk so the don't draw attention to themselves.

Hey Red Hawk (bowhunter):
Man, you will not believe the way they will pose for the shot. They will actually watch you draw your bow and not move. Plus, you can pick the spot where you want them to stop. It works almost every time!!!
