What type of round in .270 to use for coyote
#1
What round makes the least amout of damage to the coyote hide? I know this is a bigger gun but I dont have any others right now. I normally shott a 130 gr. in what ever is on sale.
If I move down in grains will I need to readjust my scope or will they still fly the same?
I want to be able to purchase these at Cabelas or Bass Pro, I do not reload.
Thanks

I shot one last weekend with my 130gr. corelokt
the hide was anything BUT salvagable.
Hit the yote right behind the front sholder, and the hole stretched back into the guts. Probably about a 8-10" hole.
He dropped though!

Ya know, I shot a deer through the neck with a silvertip once upon a time. The whole in the other side was only the size of a silver dollar. Wasn't too bad considering the bone it went through. Just stay away from those ballistic tips.

I have a buddy that uses a .270 for yotes and he uses a soft point for that. Something i would also try is Frangible. They have little fragments in them and they spread on impact thus not doing much pelt damage on the exit side.
