Beautiful Squirrel!

This was a real surprise today. Shot in the back yard. Thought I had better get him before the 'yotes or cats. This is the very first squirrel in three years that I've seen on the six acres up near the house.  An albino. He's going to the taxidermist. |

Was that a true albino ( pink eyes) or a color phase..??..
The eyes almost seem to have a pink cast in the photo.. In any case, I've never seen a white squirrel, and albinos in any species are rare.. That would make it a good candidate for taxidermy..If the person who shot it didn't want to have it mounted, I expect there are lots of folks out there who would pay good $$$to have it.. |

Me and one of my buddys tried shooting an ablino squirrel in his backyard in town once with a pellet gun ane we couldnt kill it. We shot it a few times and it never died. It was kinda upseting but on the otherhand a cool experience.

Only seen a white squirrel once and you can't hunt in downtown Watertown, Wisconsin!

Nice shooting buddy!! I have quite a few albi's but that's the prettiest one I've seen for quite a while. And trust me... I 've seen green, gray, fox, albino, black, silver tailed, and squirrels which I don't know the names of... and in all of my names I haven't seen prettier!! Nice work;)

What did you shoot it with?
You should put the mount on Ebay, I think the demand for a dead, white, mounted squirrel will be quite high. |

White anyting (except for snowshoe) are illegal in Wis... downtown or not... :)

Thats a beautiful albino squirrel you've got yourself there! Congrats!!! I hope the taxidermist is worthy of such a trophy. These opportunities come along once in a lifetime. Nice shootin'!!! |

there is a town in central IL where i fish that has a big population of white squirrels. They are beutiful but it illegal to hunt them.

Nice tree rat;). I missed my albino tree rat 4 years back about a 30 yard shot with my recurve out of my tree stand. havent seen him since:(
