As stated in one of your other posts regarding the 597, mine has misfed twice in about 300 rounds.

It's the only semi-automatic that I've ever owned though, so I'm by far no expert on the subject.

on my 597 the only problem is the clip will some times get stuck and there for the rounds will not be pushed to the top so it some times wont load. I have noticed that it does this every 3-4 full loadings of the clip and if i only put 9 in it instead of 10 i hardly ever see that problem.
still made me think of getting a marlin tube fed auto loader 22 rimfire though. its not to much and one can never have to many guns!!!

on shot gun or rimfire id go auto loader. hard to find rimfires in any thing else and shot guns are lighter when they are auto loaders which I like. on deer or deer like game id take a bolt action. there is more selection on the gun and calibures and they are cheaper. if the recoil is a little harse there are thicker but stock pads available. thats the way I go. center fire-bolt action, rimfire, shot gun- auto loader.
