Seeing that yote ticks me off. Only because I saw one like that while hunting this past deer season and hesitated to shoot it because it wasn't a normal looking yote. By the time I pulled the trigger, he was almost out of site. Guess what, I missed. Dang. I'll never second guess again when I see a dark yote. But, I probably won't see another dark yote again. Oh well.

Very true about the white "star" on the chest. If you look closely in the picture I posted, you can see the one I shot also had white on the chest.

I use a 5 round magazine when I hunt

also you can search on youtube for "black coyote" and there is a hunting video by Crow Creek Productions of a couple guys shooting a very similar coyote.

awesome story and yote !!! buddy of mine trapped one years ago here in indiana .... seem to be fairly common in MS and AL from what i have heard ....still a very awesome yote and ya first to boot !!! congrats man !!!
