Have you heard anything about the holes that the .204 will make in the pelts compared to the .223 or bigger? I would assume that it would be much less, but don't know.

Ive seen pics of what they do. If they go through they take a sofball size chunk out of the other size. They fragment very easily. I shot a 2 liter pepsi bottle filled with water and no cap on ti and it turned the bottle to quarter size pieces at 200 yards. They make very tiny holes going in the animal. Everyone says that they very rarely go through unless you are very close to the animal (like 50 yards or less). I saw some 45gr hollow points somewhere and i dont think they would fragment like the v-max dose but i like the damage they do and i know what i shoot isnt going to run anywhere after its hit.

The artical seems very good. I just skimmed through for now and read what caught my eye. I wish he would have compared the 17 HMR to a 22 mag instead of the 17HM2.From what i read it seems that my17 HMR will be a better choice for squirrells if i use hollow poin ammo. They seem to stay together and would do less meat damage to the animal.I guess im going to find somewhere to go shoot some varmints andsee how much damage the hollow points actually do on an animal.

So which round would you use for coyotes the v-max or the cci hp)?I know he said he would not use it but i plan on taking only head shots and chest shots.By the way that was a great article and review.
