Which mouth call for coyotes

A good choce woulb be to purchase an open reed call that can replicate a wide variety of sounds such as howls, yips, barks, distress sounds as well - you can even sound like a bird distress with some practice.
There are several, the Primos Lil Dog comes to mind

I've been playing around with my double straight reed diapraghm turkey call and was impressed at some of the sounds I made with it. The real quetion is whether or not the predators will like it.

When the coyotes aren't as eager to come in, I've found that going to a smaller higher pitched call works best. A juvenile cottentail, a bird in distress, or even rodents. To keep hands free when the yote get's in close you can make rodent in distress calls by making the kissing position with your lips and sucking air through them, almost like a kissing sound. You'll figure it out, but it's an easy way to keep them coming while freeing up your hands.

well, in the winter, starting tis week about, mating season is going on. a superb call i recomend is the Primos HotDog, or the Double Whammy. try the Raspy coaxer if you can find one for distress.
