What is your Squirrel hunting RIFLE rig?
 

I am just wondering what everyone is shooting for there squirrel hunting RIFLE. I am set up right now with a Marlin 25M in .22 mag. I love this gun very accurate, I have an old school weaver 4x on it and use the 50gr. hollow points from federal. I would like to hearabout your rigset up ammo, scope, and caliber.

Marlin model 60 with a 4X Tasco scope. I shoot Remington Cyclones,Sub-Sonics and golden bullets through it.

Marlin Model 60 with a 4X scope...I shoot cheap federals out of it. shoots great!!

I shoot a stock 10/22 with a Nikon 4X scope. For ammo, I use Federal "Gold Medal" target loads in 40 grain. I find much better accuracy with these than the higher speed rounds. I typically only take head shots, so the solid point isn't an issue.

On private property I use rem 522 viper or marlin 81ts both has simmons 4x 22 mag scopes and shoots the remington 40 grain target load...

Ruger 10/22 with BSA 3-9X scope. I gave my son my Marlin 60 with Burris 3-9X. So far, we've only usedthem on bunnies, but if we happen upon some tree-rats, well...

a texas arms woodchucker in 22lr is the weapon of choice here. It's the size of a cricket but it hasa 5 shot clip. It's one sweet little rifle and i love it being compact for carrying around through the squirrel woods. I have a 3-9x 32mm bushnell 22scope on it and shoot remington golden hp bullets. Works great for me. I attached a picture of the rig. It's got its fair share of battle wounds but i think it adds character!

I like to use my marlin 17 cal with a simmions 3x9 good for head shots it is a tack driver or i like to use my mossberg model 835 12ga.

i use either a $90 savage semi-auto with a cheap 4x scope or a savage bolt action 17hmr with a 3x9 on it if i want to shoot long range i huntin eastern iowa and the one timber it is nice to have a 100 yard gun with you

I use a Marlin Model 60, with a 3-7x mag scope, shoot ccm stingers thru it

just bought a savage 9317 today standard barrel with a accu-trigger topped it with a NcSTAR 3-9x40 ($35 dollar scope with a life time warranty) it is a mil dot i will hopefully shoot it tommorow and see if it is better than the regular trigger

I doubt that I'll hunt them this year, just not worth the time/effort to clean. I do have a Rem 597, .22LR, 4x BSA cheapo scope. Very accurate rifle at my plinking distance of 25 yards. I use the Federal 550 rd. 36 gr. hollowpoints from WalMart for $8.96 a box.

I shoot a CZ .22 w/ a Leupold scope and I'll tell you, it's a sweet rig

I have two and can never pick a favorite. The first is a Marlin 25mn .22 mag with a bushnell 4x scope. The second is a CZ .22 with an old Leupold. They are both tack drivers and are more accurate than I can shoot in the hunting woods.

Ruger 10/22 carbine with a 3-9x32mm simmons deerfield scope.

edit: forgot to mention the ammo, CCI velocitor's they are a 40 grain gold dot hollow point with a MV of 1400+ fps

Here is my squirrel killer. Ruger 10/22 with dragunov stock, simmon 4x39 scope, all the internal of the gun has been customize with VQ after market parts except for the trigger, trigger housingand bolt. It also sport a 22" barrel with muzzle brake. I'm still gonna have the bolt jewel, soon I hope. It has a crisp 3lbs trigger. Itspits federal 40gr like it was made for it, I get 1" groupsat 50yrds consistantly.

I only hunt squirrels when their getting into my sheds or the neighbours. but i use a marlin 17hmr with a redfeild 3-9x40.

Marlin 7000 with a simmons 4x32 scope i shoot aguila ammunition which is dang near impossible to find. i can easily take out a squirrel upto 50 plus yards. last summer i dropped woodchuck at 100 yds.

Savage 93FV17 with a BSA Contender 4-16X. Great for head shots at 100 yards.

I use a Ruger 10/22 with a bull barrel and 3-9X40 scope. I am going to try out my Springfield M6 Scout which is 22 Hornet over .410 this year.

I just use my ruger 10/22 open sights, seems to get the job done otherwise my old marlin 22.

More often than not, my trusty old Remington 581. My first rifle, with the original, beat up, but still accurate 4x tasco.

My Savage Favorite with peep site, for a small light carry rifle.

T/C Contender with a 10" .22LR barrel and a Busnell 3-9

I use a marlin 882 .22mag with simmons deerfield 3-9x40 scope and 33gr rem v-max or marlin 917v .17hmr with simmons 8 point 3-9x40 scope and 17gr v-max
