RE: .17

I was considering getting one, i just want something to play with. Target shooting is the main thing i would use it for. The only small game i hunt is squirrels and i use my shotgun or .22 for that. Dont know if i want to spend 200 bucks for just a plinker.

I won't question whether it is a good gun for shooting coyotes or fox, I'll leave that to other calibers. A 150-200 yard squirrel gun...sounds like fun to me. Late season still hunting with binoculars, squirrel hunting becomes a different game. What about practice reaching out through the branches to make that shot. Sounds like some other hunting I do. I just like being out there. Thats why I have a deposit on one.

Thanks, I agree with you 100%, from what I have read about this bullet is exactly the point you are making. The design is not to expand, rather "explode" to eliminate ricochet. I received the call last night that my gun is in. Just in time for the second season of small game. And your right... those crows like to sit out in the fields at about that range.
