RE: Any coonhunters here???
I lost my Walker female this past spring. She was 8 years old. I got her when she was about 13 months. I traded a Black and Tan female I had at the time. She was never a great dog, but she was a very competent, steady pleasure dog. I just haven't been interested in owning another one since. I will probably get around to getting another one, but in the meantime, I have been working my beagles quite a bit! I have hunted Black and Tans mostly, with one grade dog that was a 1/4 redbone, 1/4 walker and 1/2 cur dog. My uncle has him now, and we still take him out most nights. He turned out to be a coon treeing machine! At 2 years old he could trail and split tree from a whole pack of dogs and never budge an inch, and have a coon! He's still a pleasure to take to the woods! GH I love animals.......they're delicious! |
RE: Any coonhunters here???
We used black and tans, silent trailers. also had a blue tic that we bought out of Arkansas, i think the plane ride ruined it because she never did trail a coon and her voice was not very loud,.

RE: Any coonhunters here???
My brother and I run coon with hounds in western SD and eastern WY. I have a Black and Tan and he has a Bluetick. There are tons of coon around and we are having a ball.
