Of all the choices the 55 gr load. You will be pushing that bullet at 4000 ft per sec and that will make a nice flat shooting varmint load. That is why the 30.06 is the most versatile round going. No wonder it has just celebrated it's 100th b'day.:)

hch that's exactly why i bought an 06 because it's so versatile. i'm thinking of trying to reload some 110 varmit bullets for it but we'll see.

have you ever used those accelerator loads???? at 100 yards they dont shoot groups they print patterns and only to get worse at longer ranges.......

I am sure that any sabot is not going to have pinpoint accuracy; those 55 gr loads are more of a novelty then anything.I had forgot that 30.06 in 55 gr was a sabot,but to answer your question, no I don't own a 30.06 and I am buying one for my wife for an upcoming New Foundland moose, caribou, and bear. I was just looking at ballistic charts. To achieve accuracy with one I would imagine you would have to shoot 120 gr bulletsor bigger.

i haven't shot any groups with accelerators but i plan to over the summer.
