Yet, that wasn't the issue at hand. Either the 22WMR or .17HMR was the choice. If you want to go the extra mile with other calibers, than I have to put my .308 out there, or my .338 Lapua. But, unfortunately, that was not the subject at hand......Whatever the decision, do the deciding on your part, and concrete facts, not just opinions LILBOWMAN.....

Calm down Coyotestalker so we got a little off subject! everything will be OK :)

The real fact is we don't live in a perfect world we have bullet drift and drop on all calibers. The .22mag has a place in this world or it would not have lived this long and I think the .17hmr is a fun little round and will be around awhile! I squirrel hunt with mine and do quite well at head shots4 out of 5 times. the game points do less meat damage than do the ballistic tip do and they penetrate very well. I do think I like the 17 for longer shots than I do my 22 wmr. the downside is I can shoot a .223 for about the same money as the .17hmr

You got me wrong, I forgot to put a smiley face on the post.:) I was merely saying that people were getting off the subject that was orignally presented. No need to get the panties up in a bunch, on both sides. Keep on varminting with that .17HMR.
