One way to remove the hair.
Is to take a smale propane torch.
Like you fix copper pipes with.
And just pass it over the squirrel.
Just for a second or two it will singe the hair off real fast.

And for cooking you can sprinkle some meat tenderizer on
It 10 to 30 minites before cooking.

I like to quarter it and brown it
Then slow cook it with Louisann rice cajin style.
( Not Spelled right ) LoL

It comes out tender and tastey.

Good Luck

to help control the hair, first thing I do is put them into a bucket full of water. that will keep the dry hair from sticking to the meat.

as for cooking. I take the young ones and season and fry just like chicken.I use lowyers seasoning , garlic , pepper, flour and fry.

the old ones, I will season, flour then brown in a skillet.put into a prusser cooker till tender then make gravey and biscuts.

Tree climber; Man you forgot the best part!! Where is the good ole swamp cabbage? A man has to have a vegetable with his squirrel and gravey. Them folks up north think buds are some kind of drink. They don't know that you have to chop em down with an axe. Swamp cabbage goes almost as good with squirrel and dumplings as it does with bisquits and gravey.

snooky ; your right. the first time my wife's brother saw then he said " I burn things like that in my fireplace"[][&:]

the hunt club I hunt in has worlds of cabbage. I cut at least one or two a week durning the hunt season.I cut one for me and one for a disabled friend of mine.
I took several to Ga. on a hunting trip a few years back and the guys up there almost ate the pot when all the cabage was gone.[8D] [8D] [8D].

I can't figure out why they want grow in south and central Ga. in Ft. Stewart looks just like the swamps of Fl. where I hunt.?????
