I have to agree with oldelkhunter. A 300 mag is capable but it wouldn't be my first choice either for big bears. But with a 180 or 200 gr quality bullet, it would be better than a 7mm mag. My choice...

A lot of the responses are saying the 7mm mag is a good choice but to look into the 300 mags. I agree with all of them, including the ones that say the 7mm. Personally I would rather a 300 mag....
