Since the 308 mirrors a 30-06 so closely, and you have a 270 as well, I would recommend the 300WSM caliber. This way you have rifles in light, medium, and heavy duty game ranges. Good luck.

Oh, and if it's only for deer I vote for the 308, but if you will one day hunt larger game than the 300WSM is a great round.

The Browning A-bolt. I like their safety's the best andthe triggers are exceptional. I'm just a Browning guy in general, none of my Browning's have ever given me any trouble and they have all held up...
