Where do you live??? How do you hunt??? How much experience do you have???
Are you a trophy hunter, or do you kill does as well for meat???
How far can you hit a 4 inch circle with a modern center fire???
Do you have bears in your area??? Elk??? Moose???

Kinda hard to give you my "expert" opinion without some idea as to who you are...

Id take a ruger, although if any of the above were given to me i would gladly accept them. they are all good guns. i like the ruger because of the mauser type action and it comes with rings for its integral mount. i would probably get one in a 270 or 30-06.

Just bought the Hawkeye in .280.The Browning is probably the best of the bunch but it costs the most to.

The Browning A-bolt. I like their safety's the best andthe triggers are exceptional. I'm just a Browning guy in general, none of my Browning's have ever given me any trouble and they have all held up exceptionally well over the years.

Oh, and if it's only for deer I vote for the 308, but if you will one day hunt larger game than the 300WSM is a great round.
