Thank you for the correction, The new firmwares don't improve accuracy but do help get a quicker stronger lock on the available signal. Nothings more frustrating than stading in the woods waiting for...

Not so sure about the post stating that a 100 dollar gps is as accurate as a 300 dollar GPS. I know the GPS manafacturers are alway updating their firmware to increase and strengthen their reception....

If all you want to do is find your way back to the truck the cheaper model may be ok. Although I don't know how strong of a signal you will get. I have a Meridain Gold and it is great! you can down...
