RE: 45-70 for 16 year old

You can shoot a couple of boxes of the Remington .45-70 ammo with maybe a sweatshirt on and you probably wont even bat an eye. Guys at the range thought I was nuts once I was shooting mine in a...

RE: 17 hmr - mock 2?

I think the M2 is a necked down 22 long rifle, the way the HMR is a necked down 22 mag.

RE: Which Kicks more

Gun weights being equal... my thinking would be that the 12guage slug would have more foot-pounds of recoil. BUT, and this is a big but, The 30-378wby would be sending that gun back at you a LOT...

RE: 45-70 or 450 marlin?

If you were going to buy a Marlin lever, My vote would be for the 45-70. It can handle loads that match the .450, yet you can buy "dumbed-down" factory loads (300 grains at approx. 1800 fps) that...

NEF Question.

All righty... I've kinda been considering a NEF Handi- or Ultra- Rifle. I'm looking to get a woodchuck/coyote rifle (22-250 probably) and eventually a .25-06 barrel for whitetails. However, My buddy...

RE: turkey hunting, 12 & 20 gauge

The 20 gauge will definately do the trick. My little brother swears by his NEF single shot 20. I agree with wingbone, make sure its got a full or xtra full choke, and can shoot 3 inch mags. and...

RE: New WSM

Nevermind that, get a .338-378 Weatherby! Who needs a short action when your collarbone is broken by the first shot? ;)
Maybe its just me, but I think that only a few of these WSM and WSSM calibers...

RE: which marlin 1895?

I personally like the 18.5" better, it just feels more balanced. I don't think Marlin ports the barrels on these rifles anymore... but it doesn't matter especially if youre just shooting the factory...
