I use the same approach.

In addition, I keep scnet killer spray in my truck. If I get anything on my hands that stink, I start cleaning them right away. (This goes for all of deer season)

Just wanted to say Congrats to Jeff. Any deer with a bow is a trophy, especially when it feels like you might never find the animal. I have been in that position several times.
