I've got an old model 200, Sears and Roebuck pump with a poly choke...I love having a pump...doesn't leave me short on those late flushing chukar and I can hunt dove and duck by sliding in a short...

You aren't going to find a better region for upland bird hunting. The goal this year is to explore East-central Oregon. It will be a banner year!

I train my pups that don't just naturally retreive to retreive to treats. When retreiving birds or bird wings start the dog on the check cord so it has to come back...no running games. In fact start...

Oh yeah...all my western hunting is done on wild birds on public lands. It's not about the count it's about the hunting.

I get into a lot of wild pheasant/quail combo hunts here in Idaho. I use a 12-guage with 7.5 high velocity shot. But because it's a 12 I do have to let the quail get out a bit before I shoot.
