I need to order bases and rings for a 6.5x55 Sako Finnlight ST and aren't sure which bases I should order. The Opti-lock bases are available in S, L, and EX (extended) sizes but I'm not sure if I need the S or L as the 6.5 is built on thier medium action.

I'll be putting a Weaver Super Slam 2-10x42 scope on it and think the 1" low rings will work but I have read about ejection issues, should I use medium rings instead?

I know that Leupold offers rings as well but I want to stick with the Opti-lock bases and rings.

I'd suggest Talley bases and 1" low rings.

Are the new sako's the same as the older ones that have built in dovetails for sako specific rings?

Leupold makes rings that will go straight on the cuts but unlike the older Sako models the 85 series requires Sako bases to use Sako rings.

I have had good luck with the Leupold rings.

But why take the risk. Send me your Swede and I will try the various rings on it. Will send you some pictures of the rifle when I have the perfect scope mounted.
