Does anyone have any exp. with this scope? I am thinking of replacing the scope on a browning 270wsm abolt micro hunter, which is mostly used for stand hunting deer on powerline.I can get one for about $500 and that is about my price range.Ialso have read about the zeiss conquest,which looks pretty good also for about the same money.

If you like the illum. reticle, the VX R has been getting good reviews. I like the firedot 4 reticle offering. The Zeiss scopes are solid as well. Either would be fine IMO.

bugsNbows, I also like the the illim. reticle,but am wondering how it would be at 100 + yards. Also what the scope is compared to w/o the reticle on (battery dies). Also what is the " firedot 4 reticle", all I see is the firedot reticle.

Bill, the firedot 4 is basically a regular duplex without the upper vertical post. At 100 yds. it will function fine. If the battery croaks (unlikely but always carry a spare) it's still visible. It's just a center red dot that would go away. I'd suggest that you log onto the S.W.F.A. website and look at the reticles in the Leupy rifle scope section. Good luck.
