I have the VX-II 3-9x40 on all my slug guns and my muzzleloader, I have the VX-III 3.5-10x50 on my Remington 700 .300 win mag., I like them both, and not one issue.

What type of firearm do you want to put the scope on?

VX-III. Substantially better optics than the VX-!! (thus the $$$ difference), which will serve you very well in very low light and/or long distance situations.
