its a 2-10x50 but seller cannot find any markings and I wanted to know if it is a 50 dollar scope 250...etc...

any help is appreciated.

If it's a real weaver it should have marks on the bottom of the scope by the turrets. Now it's a real possibility it's a counterfeit scope, ebay has had guys selling counterfeit leupolds. If it doesn't have markings, you have to assume it's not what he said it is and you should make a offer like it's a junk scope.

what kind of markings? It does say Made in Japan which Weaver said makes it at least a post 81 scope. I was just concerned that the weaver insignia on the side of the scope is not the CURRENT one being used but I also know that Weaver has changed hands 4 times in the 20th century.
