Default Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10X 40mm Compact Scope

I'm looking at upgrading the glass on my Rem 742. I have a Bushnell Trophy 3-9X 40mm that I have had on it for six or seven years, and it has given me good service.

Anyone have experience with the Bushnell Elite 3200 3-10X 40mm Compact or any others in this series? Is it worth the $160 that I see it on sale for?

I've never had that particular one, but I have had an Elite 3200, and while it was decent, I'd recommend spending the extra $40 and paying $200 and just getting the 3-9x40 Elite 4200 instead.

I have never had one on a rifle, I do have a Bushnell Elite 3200 on my Remington XP100R 260 Rem., I have not had any problems what so ever out of it. I am quite impressed with it actually, I replaced a Burris scope that I had on it with this one and can honestly say I like it better than the Burris. I have a 4200 Elite on my Bushmaster, I like it so much that it is what made me try this scope.

My expereince is with the Elite 4200 series. I am a big fan and user of top end optics. These can cost 10X what the Elite 3200 or Elite 4200 series' sells for. I have one Elite 4200. It came on a used 10-ML that I bought. It is a fine scope for the $$$, and I have decided to not replace it unless it breaks. I suspect that the Elite 3200 will be a huge step up from the Trophy.

I did buy the scope a couple of weeks ago, but haven't mounted it yet. Just looking through it, it is a lot clearer and seems to be a lot more solid optic than the Trophy.
