Actually, Leupold is the only scope company that I've had to deal with the warranty department of.

Well, I had a Leupold that was on one of my rifles a couple of years ago when I rolled my four wheeler, bent the barrel on the rifle and messed up the scope. I called Leupold told them what happened, they told me to send it to them, They sent me a new scope instead of repairing the old one, and they was well aware that it was my fault. You cant ask for any better customer service than that, in my opinion. That one incedent is why now only Leupold gets my business. I dont know much about Sightron or Vortex, other than they have not been in the scope businees near as long as Leupold, I will personally stick with a company that has been arround the block a time or two and knows how to make there customers happy. Not everone thinks like me, that is why there are so many different scope manufactors, to each his own.

I have heard of situations like yours where Leupold replaced scopes when the problem was the result of an accident. I think that is excellent customer service but you can't expect that level of service. Leupold or any other scope manufacturer would have been well within their rights to deny the warranty claim due to an accident they had no control over.

Did the manufacturer of your 4 wheeler replace or repair it free of charge?

Vortex will do anything on their warranty to make it right with the optics and the customers. There are a lot of great optics out there that will do the job that the OP is asking about. The one thing that I have learned over the years is that not all optics for all eyes. Do some hands on research and see what fits your eyes better. Just make sure whatever scope you decide on, it has plenty of eye relief for you.

It was a tongue in cheek comment.....hence the ":s4:". Judging by the number of Nikon refurbs I see for sale, I would guess an awful lot of them are returned.

I'm putting that exact same scope on my 300 WSM, one dial for a 150gr bullet for whitetails, number two dial for a 180 gr bullet for large game.
