Default whats your hunting scope magnification

this might be a repost, but i have always wondered about what is the most common magnification that people shoot (and kill) most of their deer with (ie 3x, 4x, 5x). it would be much appreciated if you can also make a post about your region, the type area you hunt (brush, beanfield, prarie, hill country, mountain, swamp, etc.), the range that you take your successful shots at, the species of deer, the magnification range of your scope and any other info that might be a factor which will influence the magnification of your scope.

i personally im a brush hunter from easten manitoba. a HUGE majority of my harvests have been made with my muzzleloader at under 150 yards. i have a fixed 4 power scope on that rifle. i do make some "way out there" shots if i hunt western manitoba's grainfields, the most common mag. for those shots is 10x

My favorite scope is a Leupold ultralight compact 3-9 variable. Normally when I'm hunting it's set on 6X because I'm just accustomed to hunting that way. My first scope was a Weaver K-6 back in 1962 and I still have it....even in dense woods I stay at 6X

i have a burris ,6-24X50, but usually dont even use the power unless i need to look at the spread and count points..i am a firm believer in less is more when it comes to zooming in, but outside 200 yards i do use it. and its really cool, as i dont have a spotting scope, to go up on the ridge and scan the whole property for hogs, deer and who ever else might be walkin round on the property, with out them even knowing we are there.

Most of the scopes I have are Leupolds VX-II in 3-9x40, just love this scope. I also have a Leupold VX-III in 3.5-10x50 on my .300win mag, Zeiss 3-9x36 on my .30-06
