Red Dots are as quick as you can get.It takes time to align open sights.More than Rd's and more than low power scopes in the 1-4/1.5-5 range. Both are more accurate as well on both standing and running shots.Even a peep sight is better than regular open sights which IMO are the worst choice available.

Tru-glo holographic red dot. Quick on the target and can keep both eyes open. Just put 1 on my 30-30 Winchester.

I wouldn't choose an electronic sight of any kind unless it also had a permanent reticule that was not electronically operated.

Trijicon makes two scopes that are perfect on any rifle used for quick shooting. Be it on a lever action, dangerous game rifle or AR style rifle.
TR24G which is a 1-4X24 scope with a 30mm tube with the green triangle reticule.
TR21G which is a 1.25X24 scope with a 1" tube with the green triangle reticule.

What's really sad is my short vision is getting so bad that I struggle with iron sights. Still OK with a peep sight, but those days are numbered as well.
