I have picked out a scope for my rifle, I think? How about the Bushnell Trophy 3-12x56? It is $164 which is about all I can afford. Does anyone else have a suggestion for another scope of the same power under or at $150? Anyways if you approve could you please tell me what mount and rings to get. My savage is already drilled and tapped. I want the mount and rings to be outstanding quality but I want to pay $50 for both items combined. Please help a fellow hunter! I need to know. Thank you so much!!!!

56MM is big !
You are going to need high rings = need to lift you head off the stock to see through your eye piece.....................Not good.
IMO 50MM max.......................I use 44MM objective, but I'm 5'6'' - makes for good cheek weld though.

I agree with Sheridan...why such a large objective? I have nothing (on hunting rifles) over 42 mm. There are other choices besides the Bushnell Trophy. Check out the Sightron SI and SII line or the mid-range Vortex scopes.

How about the Bushnell Legend 4-12x40mm. It is a little over my price but it seems like a real good scope. ANybody have any comments on this one? I like 3-9 scopes but I just want a scope with a little longer range. Does it matter what kind of mount or rings I get for my rifle? Does it have to say for Savge rifles or for Bushnell scopes? Please help? Do you think a Leupold hunting quick release system? If you have any question for me please feel free to post them! Thank you!!

Nitro,
You never said what caliber your rifle is, but no matter- use "weaver style" bases and rings (and no, they could be any brand).
Warne has a excellent product.
