Question Pentax

I recently found out that Pentax was making scopes...(I know I am always late to the party). I am just getting back into hunting, after a 15 year vacation. My question is: has anyone used any of the these? I read that they are made in the US, and they seem to be reasonably priced. What do you all think? thanks for the replies.

I'm not sure but I do have a pair of Pentax binoculars and they are excellent. A bit big and bulky but clear as a bell and gather light really well. I can see at very low light, for all the good it does me because I can't shoot in the dark.

While I'm sure that the Pentax's have good glass, the eye relief is no better than many others. That in itself disqualifies it for me with a hunting rig. Now for a varmint rig that may be another story. Personally, I'll stay with Leupold's and Zeiss, I like my eye relief.

Some of the Pentax scopes that I've seen on closeout sales (Penta Plex Ballistic), have a longer eye relief. A coupe of the Gamesseekers model do too.

I may try a Pentax, for my next scope.

I bought a gameseeker three years ago for my 7mm mag, clear and it came stock with the ballistic plex. Really bright, but the eye relief was attrocious when crancked up to 9. Got smacked on the head and then the wife bought me a ziess conquest.
I mounted the pentax on my sisters 270 (Mossberg ATR( Darn good for 250 bucks) and it is just about perfect for that little rifle. It seems to work great for her. Good quality for 100 bucks. EJ

i have 3 pentax scope, one on my 243, 270 and one on my muzzleloader, love them all. never had a problem. very clear, great eye relief for me, and half the price (if not less) than other more well known brands.

Pentax may be good, as long as you don't ever have an issue. I had 2 Pentax products that I had issues with and they would not stand behind either. Make sure before you buy what the warranty is on the product. If you have to replace one after a few years with your own money, then half price isn't so great. Buy a Leupold or other scope with an unconditional guarantee (drop damge excepted or misuse)
