Just bought a Marlin 1894 in 44 mag and I'm gonna use it as a deer rifle. That being said, I have three scopes that are presently laying around (2 are new, just out of the box). I have the following
1. Traditions 4x fixed power scope bought new at dicks sporting goods
2. Tasco 3-9x 32 - bought new at a gun show a month ago
and
3. Bushnell 6X which came on a rifle that I bought and had a better scope for.
I'm leaning toward 1 because this gun will mainly be a brush gun and my average shot will be somewhat short (75 yds or less) but 2 would give me alot me versatility. Let me know what you guys think.

all the scopes listed save for your .22's. you spent good money on a good rifle why sell it short with crap optics? if you are shooting 75 yards an under magnification is pointless. I would go with a burris speed dot on a forward mounted scope base.
