The more interesting thing is that Hodgdon now owns the IMR powder company and one would hope they would kill the IMR powders that are duplicates of their own brand.....any bets?????.....
so then you have someone who used Imr 4831 assume that since they dont make IMR anymore that Hogden 4831 is the same because it has the same number.......viscious circle we're in aint it????

No, cause everyone knows they are different numbers. dunce

Seriously, it will take a long time to run out. It took them 15 years or more to run out of H870 from surplus.

You haven't seen the new dobe yet. He's well over 100lbs and not in a mood to play around. He even worries me.

If you want to borrow my mountain Rott, I'll lend him to you. Beowulf is a good 2 1/2 times the size of that overgrown Dobe.

The two powders are almost always within 1 grain of max load from each other in standard rounds like your 270.
Well, I beg to differ. My book says 130gr bullet 270....H4831, max load 60gr. IMR4831, 58gr. Two grains is a bit much for me....'06 is the same deviation. I would never mix and match IMR and Hodgdon. regards, Rick.

Look at the subject and read the posts. I am not talking about 4831.

The issue here is whether one should load a powder using the data for another.....yes 4350 was stated but the issue is not IMR/H-4350...it's data substitution.....got it?
