RE: Aluminum bullet cassings

CCI's Blazer line of ammunition is designed to be non-reloadable. It is generally cheaper than brass cased ammo, because the aluminum case is cheaper in terms of material cost, and is cheaper to form.
The cases are Berdan primed, with a non-standard size of primer, to keep adventerous souls from trying to reload it. Other problems relating to reloading the cases are the anvil under the primer is soft aluminum, so it gets squished down during firing. Even if you get the primer out, and find a Berdan primer that will fit, the anvil likely will not project enough to allow the primer cup to make solid contact. Aluminum doesn't have near the memory of brass alloy, and it won't size very well...usually not enough to hold a bullet properly. I hate to find the stuff at a public range, because it makes it that much harder to pick up your own brass.

Anything can be reloaded, but being that they are aluminum cases, they probably aren't as strong as brass, and might not be safe to reload.
Strength is not really an issue, per se. Brass is a unique metal. Under pressure, such as occurs when a cartridge is fired, the brass case expands, mating with the walls of the chamber. However, in milliseconds it springs back to (almost) it's original size, which allows easy extraction of fired cases. This property also allows the fired case to be resized and loaded again, sometimes ten times or more, depending on the power of the load, the style of case, tightness of chamber, etc.

Aluminum does not exhibit this property, nor does steel. That is why aluminum and steel cases are one-time use only.

I just took 150 lb of blaser cases to the scrap yard .
$ .51 a lb
Our club holds shoots and I clean up
I sell the brass cases also ,2 55 gal barrels to next week ( mostly 22 cases) ,I recovered in 4 mounths.

the case heads are stamped NR which means non reloadable. technically you can reload them if you know how to but i wouldnt recommend it.

your first sentence i agree with but the rest of your babbling I beg to differ.......... I have sucessfully reloaded 38 specials with these blazer cases I dont make a habit of it but just wanted to see if could be done. the 38 special primers were standard sized small pistol primers and the cases were also boxer primed not berdan primed, where i did run into problems was resizing and the cases split upon firing. so i wouldnt recommend reloading this stuff but it can be done.
