Default Looking for a good hunting bullet for the 260

I'm looking for a good all around hunting bullet for my 260. All I will be hunting with it is wt. I am leaning toward the Hornady 139gr SST. 200yds is my max shooting range here in KY.

Hey, where you hunting. I am from Pike County, KY myself. The 139gr will work great. I am more partial to gamekings if shot below 2800fps.

I'm in Gallantin County. Used the gamekings in my 280 couldn't hold a good group. But my 280 is real picky about the bullets it likes

I have reloaded for alot of calibers, I mean alot, and the gameking has been the easiest to get to shoot. When all else fails I always go back to it. Now I am not saying you didn't have bad luck or it will shoot in every gun. Might want to try in a 260 or the hornady. Both are top notch WT bullets

Might have to give the gamekings a try in the 260. You got good hunting down you way? Been seeing some nice bucks up here

Eastern Ky was hot for a long time, but there was a rifle hunting closedown for like 10 years. So lots of monster bucks. Now they are little harder to get too with the mountains.

Here in MD, hunting is great. Never seen a state with 90% success rate. And I am killing 8pt 1st year bucks with 15" racks. Something your rarely see in Southern WV and eastern Ky. Also, where they let people take all the does, I see 1 buck for every 3 does where in Ky, I saw 30 or so does a day it seemed.

Still on occasion hunt in Grant County, WV.

I shoot the hornady 129gr sp in my 260. I tried the 129 gr sst but it wasn't as accurate as the sp.I use H4831 powder.
