One bit of advice for the .300 and deer,&quot;STAY AWAY FROM 165gr NOSLER BALISTICS TIPS&quot; I like 165gr bullets but the BT's don't hold togeather on long shots...<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Have a friend who loaded some 180 Scirocco's in his 30-378 Weatherby super banger. He will probably never use anything else. He took an elk at an unreal distance last year, much further than anyone should be shotting at one, and he loved the performance. I think the BC should be a little higher than the Ballistic Tips because of less lead content and heavier jacket, hence a longer bullet for the weight. I plan on loading these in my 300 Winchester Mag as an all purpose load. I am hoping the sturdier construction will produce minimal meat damage on whitetails at all ranges.

I load 150 gr partitions in mine. With the partition you don't have to worry about bullet failure and they're plenty accurate in my rifle. I don't like using 180 gr bullets for deer, they aren't needed and you give up the flat trajectory of a 150 grainer.

Hey man dont say that about the nosler BT's.
I use those and never have had a problem with extreme range shots.
