My dad has a Lee hand priming tool and it worked just fine until I got a 300 WSM. The 300 WSM has the same diameter rim as a 7mm Remington Mag but is fatter past were the belt is on the 7mm mag. It is too FAT for the Lee hand priming tool. I have to use the primer on my RCBS press I dont like as well. Does the RCBS hand priming toll work with the short mags?

I believe I heard once that Lee would fix that if you sent the unit to them. If not, it's easy to correct with a rat tail file or similar tool to increase the clearance. Good luck.

Have a lee hand primer using #5 shell holder it does fine with 7 mm and wsm,(300 0r 270 wsm )Maybe they fixed it before I got mine though. It is the one that holds the primers in a round disc.Have an older model that you load one at a time but cannot find a mag shell holder for it ,I like it better than the new one.

Huh? - I'm a little confused here or at least I'm having trouble tellng the apples from the oranges.
My Lee hand tool takes Lee shell holders designed soley for it. These holders have no mounting stem - they are essential the top half of the equivalent shell holder for a press. My RCBS handtool takes any standard shell holder designed for single stage presses. I've never tried installing an RCBS shell holder in the Lee tool.
Also Lee and RCBS and most other mfg's use different numbering systems so that to use you need to match the case your using to a list provided by that mfg. For instance it's not likely that a LEE #3 is the same as an RCBS #3.
One thing that RCBS does is keep the shell holder number uniform across their product line. So that is the case takes a #3 shellholder in the press then the correct shellholder for the RCBS trimmer will also be #3 even though it's an entirely different part - I'm assuming this is tru also of their shell plates for their progressive equipment.
