My cousin who I hunt with a lot, shoots the Whelen with the 250 X exclusively and it is loaded hotter than Barnes' hot load. It shoots and performs awesome on game. I have personally seen him kill an antelope with it at 450 yards. He has also had good performance on whitetails and mulies.

Love Barnes concept, love barnes penetration, love Barnes terminal performance, but warning finding a good load can be tough and finicky. I have great luck outof the new triple X however. Very low fouling.
