I will be reloading for my Ruger Mark II ' .06, mostly for hunting (deer and elk). For now, I' ll stick with 150 gr. bullets for the whitetails, and 180 for the elk. I' d appreciate any advice and recommendations you have for powder. I know Hodgdon H4350 and possibly H414 has some fans.
I' ll be priming with a tube-feed RCBS Auto Prime. Lee goes to some length warning against Federal primers in his equipment. Again, I turn to you experts.
Thanks.

I' ve never had any issues with primers...I' ve used CCI, Win, Rem, and federal with no issues and I' d not hesitate to use any of them.
For the .30-06 with 150 grain bullets I' d suggest you look at IMR or Hodgdon 4350 as well as IMR 4064.
for 180 grain bullets I' d suggest the same powders as well as IMR 4831 and RL19

Going on 25+ years and, To date, no mishaps with any primers. I use Winchester the most but have used just about all of them at one time or another.
Can' t go wrong with 4831 in the 30-06.
