Default 7-30 Waters load for Encore

Just worked up a load for the 7-30 Waters using 139gr Barnes LRX bullets.
Using a 24" MGM barrel.
Starting load 34.0gr CFE-223 Average Vol. 2400 fps
Max load 39.0 gr CFE-223 Average Vol. 2800 fps
Trim length 2.03" OCL 3.08" which was .010 from the rifling on my barrel.
5 shot strings averaged less than .5 inches at 100 yards...

ewp,
That is one sweet shooter there.
Thanks for the load recommendations using CFE-223.

Several years ago I bought a 7-30 Waters Ackley Improved 14" barrel for my Contender. But since I don't go west for PR shooting anymore it got put on the back burner. Ohio has a straight wall round restriction for deer hunting so I can't use. I'll finish loading development and go after a coyote this winter.

Reloader's Nest has fallen off the net. What a loss for us shooters!
The WayBack Machine affords us opportunity to recall much of the data that would have been lost.

Thank God for the archives!
