My favorite magnum powder is H110/W296. I've also burned up a lot of AA 9 with good results. I steer clear of fast burning powders just because I found brass life to be much longer with slow burning powders. For that reason I personally wouldn't use 231.

Blue dot is now not recommended for use in the 41 mag. I use 2400 for hunting.

After checking it out I did find several sources that agree with you. I'll use the blue dot for my .357 158 grain loads

You will find that the 41 mag likes a heavy crimp.
