i have recently bought a bullet mold and a lyman's bullet casting book and i would like to know the lube performance of you lubes. since i dont have alot of money, the cheaper is better and later i will be able to buy some better stuff. is lee's liquid alox good enough for .357mag bullets (keith style with a flatter nose) at around 1400-1500fps? i think a liquid lube would be cheaper so i dont have to buy a lube heater gadget. thoughts?

It should work just fine.If not, what have you lost?$3 or 4 and some cleanning time.I've used it in cast rifle bullets, around 1700 fps,and had no problems.I cast pretty hard bullets, though?

if you want to use a solid lube you can by melting it in a pan and standing the bullets up in it, after it sets up use a lube cutter,a piece of pipe with the same or close to the same inside diameter as the bullets, and just punch them out. If yo want a sizer, Lee makes a good economical one, it is only good for one caliber, but it works.
