For .40 FMJ plinking rounds I mainly use Hodgden Universal.
I use Hodgden Tight Group for HP plinking rounds.

Looking at the Hodgen list, it likes like "Longshot" has some impressive numbers. Anyone use it?

I used it in my Caspian and STI in 40 cal but was not impressed. Went back to my Auto-Comp and 231. My Kimber .45 likes the Unique and Power Pistol , but my Les Baer .45 REALLY shines with the Universal powder!!!! Things that make ya go "Huummpphh"

I just started using AA#2 for my 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. It meters great. It flows almost like water it is so fine.

I too like Unique. 38,357,9mm,40,45Colts,7.62-39,06',8x57,12ga,it is a little dirty,especially the 1968 batch I'm trying to use up,but nothing like Red Dot in the pistols.
