Load for 120 grain bullet for Marlin XL7 25.06
I am shooting a Marlin XL7 in 25-06. I plan to use it primarily for whitetail deer in central Texas. I think I would prefer the 120 grain bullet. Has anyone worked up a load for this gun in the 120 that it likes? I am interested in primer, powder (type and grains), and bullet.

I am shooting a 110gr Accubond from a 22 7/16 barrel. The brass is rem., primer are cci, powder H4831 at 53.5gr. My load is over book max but shows no pressure signs in my tikka. I would start at 15% less. My group is less than an inch @ 100.
Being from Canada, I have taken whitetail out to 200-300yds and one mule buck at 250yds. The bullet expands very well. My thought is this bullet would weight would be enough for texas deer. The accubonds give the speed of the 100gr and smack down of 120gr.

While not using a Marlin XL7, I have been getting great results with believe or not.....Reloder 25 and Sierra's 120 gr HPBT, this load shoots in the .3's in my Cooper M22.
Winchester Brass
Sierra 120 BTHP
57.5gr R-25
215M
OAL 3.200"
Averages 3110fps out of my 24" bbl
*NOTE*
Alliant's max load is 58.0 grs with R25. I went to using the 215M's due to me running low on the 210M's. I did reduce my loads and worked back up and found out that I gained appx 25fps using the magnum primer over the standard.
I am really impressed with using this slow powder in the 25-06 as it's velocity is a bit more than I was able to achieve with my favorite, R-22. I would be interested in others trying something like this and see what results they get.

25/06 load?
I know nothing about the Marlin bolt guns; however, I have a Savage and a Vanguard in 25/06. They both like 110gr Accubonds and IMR4831. I tried several 120gr bullets and neither shot them well. Both are 1in10 twist.
GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!
