Will the 150 pound whitetail know the difference between dead and dead probably not, but elk, moose, bear and anything else you plan to shoot larger than a deer I won't shoot anything but Barnes. Between my family and the elk I have seen harvested I can tell you they are impressive.

The Barnes Bullet cuts through tissue, were as most of the traditional lead/copper bonded ones push/tear through tissue. Bone it becomes a little different issue than pure cut vs tear. But from my personal experience with the Barnes is nothing but positive. I am a believer and will pay the extra for what it costs.

I myself hated barnes until they came out with the TSX. They rarely shot well unless your barrel mated wtih the bullet well, even the coated ones.
I even have had swift A-frames, (a very overpriced bullet) not penetrate well. And again a BC of a rock.

Then jump up to the AccuBond. Barnes BC sucks compared to Bergers anyway
I've shot the original X bullet, XLC, and TSX. Sure the work fine, penetrate and kill deer. Never shot an elk/moose with one, but I don't have to to know they aren't NEEDED on them.
I don't HATE them at all, still have several boxes of them loaded, factory rounds and bullets ready to load. Just found something cheaper that I can shoot all long and not have to take out a loan for. If I ever go to Africa, the Barnes bullets will come with me
