Default need help with .270 and .243

I am getting into reloading and i need some help with powder selection I would like to purchase one powder for both rifles
I will be loading the .270win with 150gr nos parts
and the .243 win with 100gr nos part
they both shoot well with factory loads with the NP bullets and will be used for antelope muleys and i use the .270 for elk.
from what i have read in other post i am leaning towards H4831 SC

For both rifles, go with IMR 4064. I get very accurate results with it for 130gr Sierra bt, and 47gr of it in my 270. And know people who do shoot it in their 243. Not sure about the results. I use it also in 308win and have good results but perfer Varget for the 243 and 308win. H4831 should also do well.

Since each rifle is an individual no person can accurately predict which powder will work best in each rifle.A load that works great in one 243 or 270 may perform very poorly in another 243 or 270 so it comes down to trial and error.Trying to load both rifles with the same powder makes things a little tougher so you may have to test several powders to get the results that you desire assuming that you can that you can get the results you want with a single powder which is not a given. It all depends how accurately you want your guns to shoot.

You should be able to work up a hunting round using the same powder but maybe not a target quality round . Let us know how it works out .

IMR 4064 is my choice for the .243,as for the .270 try different loads of 4064 and see if you like it...

I don' t load for the 270.........
but for the 243 have also had very good accuracy results with IMR 4064. My best accuracy loads are not screamers though. I load more towards the high/middle end of the velocity spectrum. Better on your barrel anyway.
