Can anyone give me a max powder weight and O.A.L. I am trying the ballistic silvertip 130 gr. bullets and the H4831 powder. I had used 4350 with success, but here in Manitoba any 4350 become extinct. Thanks.

54-58g of IMR4831, COAL tested- 3.240,
2698-2971fps
IMR4831 is a little hotter than H4831

Hornady case, CCI benchrest primer, 58.8 grs of H4831, 130 gr. ballistic silvertip, C.O.L 3.340, grouped 5/8"@100. It took six different 3 shot test loads and the last group was the winner. Loaded 82 rounds.

.........Have you duplicated that load yet for repeatability? And, although it probably won't matter much with that powder, you should check it again at temps nearer to those you intend to hunt with it in. ....Hope all remains good for ya!......

I load 59.9 grains of power behind a 130gr bullet. It comes out of a 26" barrel at 3288 fps on average and has great accuracy. Short Mag what? hehe. It was IMR 4831. I like the speer boatail it has never failed me in preformance or accuracy. Start up around the 58grs of powder and go up and down for accuracy until you find a sweetspot.
