Hodgdon Hybrid 100V - Is this good powder?
#1
I just purchased a reloader a couple of days ago to start reloading shells for my .270. I decided to go with the Hybrid 100V powder after some research. My buddy shoots Varget. Is one better than the other? I know the 100V is a fairly new powder, did I make a good choice?

Bottom line is any accurate load has "good" powder. Varget is good, IMR4064 is good, IMR4350 is good. I can't say I know a "bad" powder.
But if your wondering if 100V will give you top performance in your gun, only you and your gun can answer that question.
If your starting to reload, its helpful to have an assortment for load development.
I myself prefer to keep faster burning powders like Varget and IMR4064 reserved for 308 sized cases. 270win seems to love IMR4350. It appears 100V is in that same burn rate range of 4350 powder, so I would bet it would do well.
I too have been seeing the off the chart numbers for 100V for some cartridges and has too peaked my interest. I am not sure of the place for 100V or why they came out with it.
