I would like to reload some rounds for my Model 70 in .270WSM. I've been reading a lot of the threads but wanted to ask some questions before buying supplies.
1) What brass do people prefer? I read that Remington is more consistent but softer than Winchester. All of my once fired brass is nickel plated and I'm hesitant to use it.
2) What powder works best in this round and why? Was leaning towards H4350 or IMR4350.
3) What primer and why? Was going to use Win LR primers.
4) Was going to try the Nosler 140gr Accubond bullets. This round will mainly be for whitetails out to 300 yards. Another bullet I was interested in trying is the Hornady 130gr GMX.
I don't want this to turn into an argument over what people think is best, just give me your opinions please.

i like winchester brass and winchester wlrm primers for most of my shooting. 56 grains of h4350 or 60 grains of rl19 works really well with a 150 berger out of my weatherby vanguard. ive also tried RWS and norma brass, not much of a difference from my 270 wsm but i did find they could handle alot stronger charges in my 6.5/270wsm. the nolser accubonds are great bullets for most whitetail hunting but i couldnt get them to shoot as well as the 150 berger that i settle on. if i were you id stay away from the gmx, they dont expand very well at longer ranges. even on hornady's website they show what the expanded bullets look like, they just barely open at 2000 fps.

I've excellent results accuracy wise with 63.0 gr of IMR4350, WLRM primer and WW cases. That's pushing a 130 gr Nosler Ballistic tip. I've also had very good accuracy with the 140 gr Accubond and 58.5 gr of IMR 4350. Other powders that would work well are RE19, RE22, H4831SC. I recently picked up some of the original 130 gr Nosler Solid base bullets, haven't had a chance to do any load development with them yet though. The Hornady 130 and 140 gr SST's should do well also. You have to see what your guns likes best.
