Default 5 pounds...

Thats how much brass I have picked uptodayfrom the shooting range...lol. I am just about to the point of running out of places to keep it. Got an entire box of Winchester Nickel 280 brass. It amazes me how people wait all year and then push the clock to get their guns ready. On another note...I got some 300 RUM brass and it kind of reminds me of a 55 gallon drum...lmao.

doedumper - With the price of copper and brass lately (at least a couple of months ago) you may as well have been picking up gold. I'd pile it all up and take it to the scrap yard or at least weigh it and see how much you have then call and see what the $ per pound is.

mossy.. the guys who shoot that cannon seem to be fairly reluctant to shoot it many times at one whack..lol. Soon as I get enough to send its all yours...Im probably around 15 pieces now. I havent even sorted it all yet. I cant see me ever being brave enugh to tackle on of them things on a regular basis..lol.

bronko I have 3-5 gallon buckets full from the last coupla years and today and next weeknd will be the heaviest usage of the year and I havent even went down there yet today...lol. Only complaints I have if you could call it that is that an honest 70-75% of it seems to be 270-30-06 brass. Id say 243, 30-30 would rank next followed by 7mag and 300 win mag. Its hard to find the stuff I reeally want like the 7-08 and the 6.5 swede..lol. I dont figure those items are very mainstream here...and it seems like most of the guys with th 7-08's are rolling their own. It seems to be one of the preferred catridges for the enthusiasts now.

Suffice to say...rumors of the 270 and 30-06's demise were waaaaaay exaggerated...lol. The new short stuff is nice and I do see a lot of wsm brass but the majority of it is the 300wsm. However they definitely arent making any inroads on the old standards around here. I guess if all else fails I could probably make some 7-08 from the 243 brass but I havent looked at how big of a job that is.

Chicken scratch to the untrained eye. Very pertainate data to the experienced OCD perfectionist.
